Fantasy Soccer – 19/20

Join us for our annual Fantasy Soccer Fundraiser.

Unlike raffles and donations which last but a few minutes, this fundraiser is a season long event, great fun for the soccer fan, and a personal experience battling out your soccer team of stars against those from across the world.

We don’t need a fancy new stadium without a name, and an empty trophy cabinet, we have Central Park and a couple State Cups! More than Spurs have won in my lifetime. So join us to be part of a great competition you have a chance to win in.

The winner at the end of the season will win a $100 Amazon Gift Certificate, and a Winners Post for finishing 1st place. (Arsenal fans can receive a complimentary participation certificate upon request!)

Registration – Participation is only $10’s, and will last the entire season, that’s $1 a month to show up our Fremont coaches with your soccer knowledge.

Week 1 Review

The following contains information about the weeks practice. The email will outline the sessions that have been completed and what the players worked on. We have a player centric, proactive curriculum which ensures the players will cover all the necessary mechanics, skill work, and give players a chance to be decision makers and creative players. Through the long-term development from U8 to U19, the players will pass through different stages and priorities as outlined in the program welcome meeting.

While during practice the players will be given the tools they need, if an individual wants to push on with playing at a higher level and performing to the best of their ability, practicing at home will always give them that extra edge, and we can’t encourage enough for those with passion for the sports to practice in their own time. This also avoids unnecessary overtraining of structured practices continuously throughout the week.

ADP Training Pool, U8 and Competitive Ages

  • Small Sided Games, Free Play, Pre-Season.
    • Both sessions during this week were for Small Sided Games. A 3v3 to 4v4 format where players play the sport. Gaining game insight and intelligence while playing the sport in a pressure free environment

11’s to 08’s Competitive Teams

  • Small Sided Games, Free Play, Pre-Season.
    • Both sessions during this week were for Small Sided Games. A 3v3 to 4v4 format where players play the sport. Gaining game insight and intelligence while playing the sport in a pressure free environment

07’s to 04’s

  • Preseason team bonding games.
    • Fun soccer specific games, involving challenges with ball movement between groups, and juggling challenges to compete against other teams.
  • Introduction to Fitness
    • Some teams were able to participate in fitness with a ball sessions, but many sessions were changed and adjusted due to the heat this week.  The following is a summary of the session that was run when possible –
    • Working in groups of four with one ball per group, players release the ball in a pass to then sprint through a gate at the opposite end of the playing area. Upon returning to the playing area that player is again active to be involved in the passing and moving. Progressions involve having a defending team put pressure on the decision making of the players, with a push-up forfeit for the team losing possession. As always, a small sided game to finish with conditions to match that of the practice topic, passing. Numbers up game where players have three options to score, encouraging ball movement to switch points of attack to exploit space. Intensity of session continues to be high due to the numerical advantage of the team in possession.

03’s and Older

  • Preseason team bonding games.
    • Fun soccer specific games, involving challenges with ball movement between groups, and juggling challenges to compete against other teams.
  • Fitness with a Ball, Passing
    • Working in groups of four with one ball per group, players release the ball in a pass to then sprint through a gate at the opposite end of the playing area. Upon returning to the playing area that player is again active to be involved in the passing and moving. Progressions involve having a defender from another group put pressure on the decision making of the players with a burpee forfeit for the team of three losing possession to the one defender. As always, a small sided game to finish with conditions to match that of the practice topic, passing. Numbers up game where players have three options to score, encouraging ball movement to switch points of attack to exploit space. Intensity of session continues to be high due to the numerical advantage of the team in possession.
  • Creating Width,Changing the Point of Attack
    • The session was a technical/tactical practice consisting of position specific rondos, both small and large, and game situation practice to recreate the movements and communication needed for switching the point of attack. This session progresses from the weeks fitness topic of passing and moving, therefore recreating the demands of the previous fitness session, along with the game realization of communication and decision making of the position specific roles of the player.

Every session is structured to facilitate all four pillars of the players development, and to include challenges, targets, and competition to get players to push themselves further. We are a program that heavily focuses on the players individual development, and not to get caught up in the race for trophies and excessive travel to unnecessary tournaments. If you ever have any questions about the Fremont YSC philosophy, and the proactive curriculum, we are always available to answer.

Hold the Press!

Fremont YSC and 06BBE Max Allen recently held a press conference during his attendance at the Brighton and Hove Albion Soccer Camp, Brighton, England. Not only demanding a multi-million dollar move to Chelsea, Max used the press conference to distance himself from Tottenham Hotspur rumors and talk about his goals for the upcoming season.

During his brief but successful stint at the Premier league club, one of his highlights was ‘megging’ Lewis Dunk and finishing nicely passed the keeper.

Happy 4th

Happy 4th of July to you all. Have a fantastic day with your family and friends, and travel safely.
